How America’s current racial caste system works
After reading The New Jim Crow by Michelle Alexander, I worked with Anne Rhodes to create this infographic. Massive as it is, it’s still just a fraction of the data she presents.
In many ways, this system is more dangerous than slavery or segregation. We need to end the idea that our nation is colorblind - it isn’t, and hopefully never will be - because racial indifference, not racial hostility, is what supports racial caste systems and prevents us from truly treating every human being as an equal.
