“When I look up at the night sky, and I know that, yes, we are part of this Universe, we are in this Universe, but perhaps more important than both of those facts is that the Universe is in us. When I reflect on that fact, I look up—many people feel small, ’cause they’re small and the Universe is big, but I feel big, because my atoms came from those stars.”—
There are some days where I wish mirrors didn’t exist, facebook didn’t require a profile picture, and that people cared more for internal values than external appearances (the latter I shall never stop wishing for). It’s not so much what the world is saying to us anymore but what we are saying to ourselves when we look in the mirror, do our make-up, cut our hair, and spend hours in the bathroom looking at ourselves trying to cover up any and all blemishes we have on our body with man-made powders, creams, and paints.
